Professional counseling is an opportunity to receive individualized support for challenges in life and relationships. The goal of counseling is to be empowered to lead a more fulfilling and productive life. Counseling provides the space to identify goals and chart a path toward growth for topics such as:

Some tips to get the most out of counseling:

  • Recognize that doing inner work takes both emotional and physical energy.

  • Commit to practicing new skills; this will impact how much growth you experience.

  • Practice active reflection – writing down key points from sessions, journaling, pondering questions and emotions that come up during and between sessions.

  • Consider what you would like your life to look like – counseling is not all about stopping a behavior or adjusting to a situation, it is about growing, becoming, and maturing.
